A graduate of the Seattle University School of Law and the University of Washington, attorney Raj Bains leads a legal practice that focuses on family law. Based in Federal Way, Washington, Raj Bains has handled divorces and related cases for some 25 years.
Raj Bains recognizes that family law takes place in a unique courtroom setting. He takes into account the sensitivities of people going through a divorce, balancing his compassionate treatment of the involved parties with a proactive approach that emphasizes problem-solving. Mr. Bains acknowledges that resentment and anger are part and parcel of the adversarial nature of the court.
His caseload spans a range of family law areas, from separations and child custody to paternity claims and domestic violence. He also handles appeals and military divorces. His enthusiasm for the law is reflected in his pro bono services, for which he received the Volunteer of the Year award from the National Association of Legal Secretaries in 2011.
Although many of his clients come from King and Pierce counties in the Seattle and Tacoma areas, he serves clients from all over Washington. He has also represented service personnel stationed outside of the United States in Afghanistan, Italy, and Germany.
