Rajeev Arora
I am an IT industry veteran, having started my IT career in 1981, the year the first PC was announced by IBM. Mainframes were gaining momentum, assembly programming was very alive though starting a steady decline, relational databases including IBM DB2 were yet to gain market traction, though research had been completed.
Today, I live in a world of cloud computing, social networking and digital media.
I have watched, participated and led IT, business and social transformation resulting from Internet / web-enablement / eBusiness, distributed systems integration, multi-tier client-server and PC / desktop / mobile computing. This has changed how customer interaction, supply chain interaction and internal business processes are carried out. Social and personal lives are not spared either from deep personal change.
Having worked in an industry such as IT for such a long period of time, I have become a certain type of person. One who foresees, imagines, frames, prioritises, implements, leads and enjoys change. Not just the business and IT dimensions, but the people part too!
What about my human side? My hobbies can best be compared to a pipeline through which various interests pass over time. They do leave their fingerprints on my personality and find a reconnection with the new interests that follow.
Here is a list of my interests, starting with the most recent:
- Fitness (Group fitness classes Body Pump and Body Jam, Badminton), Shiamak Bollywood Dance,
- Conquering Back and neck pain,
- Radio hosting (producer, announcer, community broadcaster)
- Philosophy (ongoing) and religion,
- Visual arts,
