Sports and Philosophy have been the two loves of my life. While sports provided me an avenue to continuously challenge and improve myself, philosophy taught me to stay grounded. Having read almost all major scriptures (Upanishads, Bible, Koran and Torah), I have acquired a good idea about comparative religion and their relevance in modern times. In college, I wrote a piece citing similarities between 'The Matrix' and Vedanta philosophy. I am also a state level basketball player.
I grew up in Tatanagar– a township developed by the Tata family, legendary Indian industrialists and philanthropists. I learnt from a young age that community is not just another stakeholder in business, but the very purpose of its existence. I try to give back to the community however I can, be it by starting a vocational training institute for college students, called Nimble Tech, or opening a Cancer Clinic in my hometown. In college, backpacking for three weeks across Europe was a dream come true. I love adventure and am trained in wall climbing, rappelling, scuba-diving and trekking. I’ve climbed the world’s highest non-technical trek. I believe that the risk and uncertainty involved with adventure sports is a perfect tool for self-discovery.
The day I was selected in Tata Steel, among 32,000 applicants, was a proud moment as I upheld my family’s sacrifices in educating me. Leaving it and moving ahead was a difficult choice. But growth demands change and so here I am, excited to share these hallowed halls with the best brains in the world.
