Rakesh Dhar is a medical professional based in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Since 2013, he has worked as a clinician at CNS Multispecialty Clinic gaining expertise in electrodiagnostic and interventional injection procedures. Electrodiagnosis is a medical analysis that observes bodily responses from electrical stimulation. This testing determines the cause of pain, weakness, or numbness in the back, neck, arms, hands, legs, or feet by measuring the electrical activity of the muscles and nerves to see if there is any damage, the cause of the injury, and the amount of harm done. Dr.Dhar uses these tests to treat patients’ migraine headaches, neuromuscular disorders, strokes, spinal cord injuries, sports injuries, concussions, as well as other conditions. He also preforms diagnostic skin biopsies and MSK diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound guided injections. In addition to his work with patients, Rakesh also focuses on clinical research. With over 14 years of experience in the field, he began his interest in research while studying Ophthalmology and eye disorders. He continued his work at the Center for Neurological Diseases at Harvard’s Institute of Medicine in Boston. While he initially conducted basic research, Rakesh later spent time at TUFTS Medical Center and Boston University’s Medical Center working on the clinical side studying infectious diseases, HIV, Hepatitis C, and Anesthesiology. He also assisted clinical trials for chronic and episodic migraine headaches at Madvadis in Watertown, MA. Presently, Dr.Dhar works in global safety/clinical development at Merck in the greater Boston area.

Throughout his career Rakesh has always put people first. He finds that helping others improve their quality of life is a very humbling and joyous experience. He is also known for his individualized service and getting to know his patients on a personal level. In his free time, he enjoys listening to a variety of classical music, attending concerts, and traveling the world.
