From Banking and Insurance, I wanted to change my domain, at the same time I wanted to start my own basement shop. I started looking at big data technologies(Hadoop, Spark, Python and R)..
My daughter was diagonsed with Gestational Diabetes around that time and to my surprise i found that the causes are not well known. Neither I nor my wife had any history of diabetes in the 3 generations. I found that current incidence rate of Gestational Diabetes is as high as 15% among pregnant women of my tribe. Can the big data technologies help our diabetes researchers?. I took a 90 degree turn in my career towards health IT.
Thanks to the 60+ completed courses from Coursera and Edx , I am picking up basics of health care and related data science aspects. My knowledge quest started with Professor Eric Lander's 'Introduction to biology-secrets of life'. Thank You Sir.
