Hi, I’m Ramadhan (aka 'RAMA'). I am a Kenyan, currently based in Treforest, Pontypridd, Wales, UK, with over 7 years of experience in IT, as a full-time Ph.D. Research Student in Cybersecurity at the University of South Wales, having begun in October 2022 and also appointed as a Post-Graduate Research (PGR) Student Representative in my Faculty.

My doctorate research project is entitled “Developing a Security Compliance Framework for the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT).”

I am also a CyberFirst Ambassador (a volunteering program supported by the NCSC - UK) and also a STEM Ambassador within Wales.

I am also currently working part-time as a Hourly Paid Lecturer in Cybersecurity and Computer Science at the University of South Wales

I was also as a part-time Warehouse Operative, under contract with Smart Solutions in Cardiff from February 2023 to April 2025.

I also occasionally volunteer as a Secretary and a Community Volunteer at the Consortium for Creativity in the Community for Health and Well-being in Treforest.

I am also an Independent Cybersecurity and Data Protection Consultant with CybeRama (Kenya) Ltd.

I am a former Senior IT Officer (Data Privacy and Protection) at Cerba Lancet Kenya, a company I served for 6 years i.e. 2012-2018 and 2021-2022.

I also served as an IT Helpdesk Engineer with Aytel Systems, an IT business solutions company in Cardiff, Wales, UK. This was a Post-graduate Summer Internship program that I pursued (from June - September 2018) amid my Post-graduate studies in Wales.

I am a 2019 Graduate ALUMNI from The University of South Wales, Treforest Campus, United Kingdom, with Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Systems Security degree. I am also a 2014 Graduate ALUMNI of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, in Nairobi, Kenya, with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science degree.

I have received online training and certifications with various IT/Cybersecurity certifications with IT Career Switch, an Online IT Training Institute based in the UK.

I attended my Primary School at Lavington Primary School, Makini Group of Schools (KCPE-2001), and my Secondary School at Moi Forces Academy, and Makini Academy (KCSE-2005) all in Nairobi, Kenya respectively.

I am a fan of cybersecurity, basketball, gym, karate, music, dance, entrepreneurship and travel.

I am a vibrant, outgoing, network-oriented, interactive and ambitious individual seeking to succeed, complimentively work with, and inspire others to achieve their goals.

I am also a strong advocate for both Mental Health, Inclusivity and Diversity.
