Philanthropist Ramesh Goenka has contributed to numerous organizations to benefit social programs across the world, including donating more than $1 million to an animal welfare charitable trust. In 2013, he established the non-profit organization Ramesh Goenka Foundation (RGF). Through this foundation, he works to improve social conditions in India by offering services such as education, medical relief, and environmental protection, as well as maintaining facilities for orphans, people with disabilities, and the aging.
Professionally, Mr. Goenka serves as the chief executive officer of the Suashish Group, a holding company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this position, he continues to lead one of the world's top diamond companies, Suashish Diamonds Limited, which he founded in 1988. He also created a retail brand for diamond jewelry known as Ishi's and established a diamond manufacturing firm in Botswana.
Throughout his career, Ramesh Goenka has earned numerous honors for his work, including the National Export Award. The president of India also honored him with an award for exemplary exports performance.
