Growing up, my family has also been very invested in the world of golf. Both of my grandpas have their little group of guys that they would go play with at least once a week, so I would hear all about their rounds at golf. Listening to my grandparents, peaked my interest in the sport. Starting at a young age, I would go to the range and putting green with my grandpa and enjoy the time with him. Unfortunately, I was more involved in talking with my grandparents than with actual golf. That later changed when I went into middle school. Once I was in middle school, I started to play competitive golf and focus on my game. In sixth and seventh grade I only played in school tournaments. As expected, I was not the best golfer as it was my first few serious years of playing. Once I went into eighth grade, I began to play competitive golf outside of school. I competed in several Hurricane and SJGT golf tournaments. These tournaments took me to the next level in golf which allowed me to play in high school. I played varsity golf all four years of my high school career. Unfortunately, I stopped playing golf tournaments outside of school. Spending my whole weekends playing golf just was not my style and I felt like I was losing a lot of time with my close friends. However, playing less golf allowed me to score better. I had my lowest average scoring season in my senior year. I averaged 78.5, compared to my junior year which was 82. As I transitioned to the University of Georgia, I stopped playing golf altogether. As a college student, I am much busier and do not have the time to play golf like I used to. Luckily, I will go play golf at the UGA course once a month just to make sure I can still decently play golf.
