Ramisha Farooq
I am a first year journalism student at fabulous Ryerson University in the heart of urban Toronto coming from the semi-small town of Milton, ON. I have written for my school newsletter, covering topics such as the environment and new school initatives. As a senior in high school, I was also the editor of the Milton District High School yearbook and have written various articles for online news sources such as allvoices.com. I look forward to completing an internship at a broadcasting corporation in my fourth year of study.
In the coming years I hope to complete my degree and volunteer with several broadcast news companies in order to gain experience and get my foot in the door to companies such as the CBC and CTV where I hope to become an anchor, political analyst or a foreign correspondent. I may even go on to pursue a career in law after successfully getting into law school.
On a more personal note, I am passionate about issues pressing the environment, human rights and global politics. not to mention, I am an avid hockey fan(GO PENS!) constantly twittering about the state of the NHL and my respective opinion of the team most likely to win the coming Stanley Cup Championship.
Lastly, I am a very hard working individual, who is goal-oriented and driven towards achieving a successful career in broadcasting. I am full of opinions and fun facts about the world around us.
After 18 years of a constant change in career path, I have finally settled on the one thing I love most, writing.
