Ramjeet Soap Company
My grand pappy made soap with traditional methods, straining water through wood ash for several days until lye was formed.
An egg was used as a tester; if it floated then soap making could begin. Aunty Nelly had the laborious task of stirring until the soap ‘traced’ and then it could be moulded and stamped with ‘RAMJEET’S SPECIAL’.
As a teenager my daddy would take it to market by donkey cart. My daddy’s memories are embraced in my handmade soap for a future generation with simplicity as its source.
All my ingredients are free from additives, chemicals, and colourings – as natural as my grand pappy made it. I use fresh milk from my beautiful Golden Guernsey goat, Dolly. And my herbs are picked straight from my garden which Dolly also loves!
Today scientists are discovering a wealth of benefits from using goat’s milk, amongst them is the high amount of selenium which can prevent skin cancer and alpha hydroxyl– for repairing damaged epidermis, as well as moisturising and soothing sensitive irritated skin. Add to this the goodness of olive oil. My soap is a champion for healthy cleaning – no wonder it’s next to Godliness!
