Ramses Ja

Ramses Ja is the Music Director and midday host of KNRJ-FM 101.1 The Beat (weekdays 9a-2p). He has gained notoriety in the Hip-Hop community as one of the west coast's premier on-air personalities. As a radio host, he has scored exclusive interviews from the likes of Lupe Fiasco, David Banner, The Game, Talib Kweli, and many others. Since early 2006, he has anchored the #1 rated, world-renowned Hip-Hop radio show Friday Night Flavas (later/currently dubbed R.E.D.Y. Set Radio) alongside Bootleg Kev, but his contributions don't stop there! As an Official Bum Squad DJ and a member of the prestigious DJ Vatican, Ramses has spun for several major-market radio stations, stadium-sized concerts, exclusive nightclubs, and upscale, private functions. In doing so, he has lent his skills to several noteworthy celebrities including The Wu-Tang Clan, Warren G, DMX, EPMD, Rakim, Das EFX, Amare' Stoudemire (New York Knicks), Adrian Wilson (Arizona Cardinals), G-Unit Records, and is currently the resident DJ for 3TV's Your Life A to Z (Fridays on KTVK Channel 3). The best DJs in the world are all multi-faceted, well established, skilled audio manipulators, and Ramses Ja is no exception. For years, he has provided his talents to the masses via television, radio waves and in-person performances. Because of the several capacities in which he has functioned, Ramses Ja brings a unique presence to the turntables and a deeper understanding of entertainment to the airwaves. It's no secret that Ramses Ja knows how to rock a party...in person or on the airwaves! Being the younger brother of Los Angeles' legend and Dilated Peoples' frontman Rakaa "Iriscience" Taylor ensured a proper musical upbringing and a deeper respect for the art of DJing and dynamics of hosting. Nowadays, infusing elements from nearly every type of music into his set allows him to be unique, versatile, and exciting to nearly every type of crowd! Ramses Ja, however, believes wholeheartedly in the immortal words of Coolio: "Ain't no party like a west-coast party 'cause a west-coast party don't stop!" Word!
