Rand Lee is the son of the late Manfred B. Lee, who with their cousin Frederic Dannay wrote the "Ellery Queen" mystery novels and short stories; and writer, monologuist, and actor Kaye Brinker, best known for her "Virginia Dare Tobacco" radio commercials in the 1940s.

Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, Rand has served an international clientele as a rational intuitive consultant since the 1980s. Rand works over the telephone or in person with groups, couples, and individuals, utilizing both the Tarot and trancework to get information for his clients. He is the author of a new book, The Tarot of You, which is currently seeking an agent and publisher.

Rand's garden writing has appeared since the 1970s in national publications such as The American Gardener, The Mother Earth News, Horticulture, Birds & Blooms, The Herb Quarterly, The Herb Companion, and Organic Gardening. As a garden coach, Rand specializes in informal "cottage garden" design, either in-ground or in containers, utilizing both native and locally adapted plants. His 1998 Friedman/Fairfax hardback book, Pleasures of the Cottage Garden, is out of print but still available from Amazon.com.

Rand's science fiction and fantasy short stories have appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Asimov's, and Amazing Science Fiction Stories. An ebook anthology of his earliest work, The Green Man & Other Stories, has been published by Curiosity Quills Press. Rand has also been published in The Literary Review.
