Randolph “Randy” Persaud, PhD, director of Comparative and Regional Studies at American University since 2013, has studied international relations and foreign policy for more than 30 years. In addition to his directorship, he has served as an associate professor in the university’s School of International Service since 2003. During his time at American University, Dr. Randolph Persaud has worked on projects with the US State Department, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the United Nations.
Previously, Dr. Randolph Persaud spent 10 years as an administrator and instructor at York University, where he held an appointment as the assistant director of the York Centre for International and Security Studies at the time of his departure.
Dr. Randy Persaud currently serves as a reviewer for such academic publishers as Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, University of Notre Dame Press, and State University of New York Press. In addition to his existing body of research in peer-reviewed journals, he authored Counter-Hegemony and Foreign Policy: The Dialectics of Marginalized and Global Forces in Jamaica. He remains an active member of the International Studies Association and the Caribbean Studies Association.
