Randy Bampfield

Randy Bampfield is a tax controversy and litigation attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel - Internal Revenue Service. In 2014, Bampfield was promoted from senior attorney to senior counsel within the Office of Chief Counsel. Less than ten percent of attorneys are selected for senior counsel positions, which are chosen based on substantive case work, litigation experience and leadership skills.
In both 2007 and 2009, Bampfield won the Litigation Award for successfully arguing cases that resulted in new tax law. In 2011, he won the Don Korb National Innovation Award for his work throughout the organization on expert witnesses.
Bampfield serves as an IRS instructor in Expert Witnesses Preparation , Advanced Trial Advocacy and Cross Examination. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.
He currently resides in north Atlanta with his wife, son and rescue dog, Penny.
