Randy Metcalf, MD, has received a number of appointments and honors in recognition of his almost 30 years of work. As a cardiothoracic surgical resident at Ohio’s internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic hospital (previously the Cleveland Clinic Foundation), Randy Metcalf, MD, earned the designation of chief resident and garnered the Bryan Award for Clinical Excellence.
Dr. Randy Metcalf has earned Board certification both in general and cardiothoracic surgery, including a recent recertification in his cardiothoracic specialty. Continuing to pursue developments in his field, he holds membership in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. His most recent hospital appointment was with Aria Health Systems in Philadelphia.
Also involved in a number of cardiothoracic research initiatives, Dr. Randy Metcalf most recently published an investigation of massive pulmonary embolisms in the Journal of Extracorporeal Technology. He also has presented before a number of grand rounds and professional meetings and has participated on numerous committees, including Aria Health’s Cardiac Surgery Program Development committee and Aria Health’s Cardiothoracic Surgery’s Quality Control committee.
