Randy Reichert
Randy Reichert is a mining engineer with over 25 years of experience in leading mining operations from development stage to production. Founder and current President of Toronto-based NW3 Mining Consultants Inc., Randy earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Queen’s University, concentrating his education on rock mechanics and mine design. Randy also holds a graduate diploma in business administration from Simon Fraser University and is a professional engineer registered in the Province of Ontario.
Randy Reichert’s mining career began with a ten-year tenure with Cominco Ltd., a leading zinc and copper producer. Focusing on Cominco’s Canadian projects andserving consecutively as a mine planning engineer, senior mine engineer andsuperintendent, Randy led in the planning, forecasting and optimizing of two major mining operations for Cominco. Notably, from 1994 to 1998, Randy’s work at Cominco’s Sullivan Mine in British Columbia provided him experience in optimizing operations on a tight budget and during a time of low metal values.
In 2002, Randy expanded his mining experience on an international level, first in Russia with Bema Gold Corp., followed by work with Oriel Resources in London. At Bema Gold, Randy served as General Manager at the company’s Julietta Mine, a role that allowed him to successfully help direct the mine from development stage to production. In doing so, Randy achieved aggressive financial goals, increased recovery of ore percentages from 85% to 90% and employed training and control measures that improved mine safety. This was followed at Kupol where he was GM,Operations and had a key role in the development of the world-class high-grade gold mine that was key in Kinross acquiring Bema Gold.
Following his management role at Bema GoldCorp., Randy served as Chief Operating Officer at Oriel Resources, a position that had him overseeing a large extent of the company’s operations and guiding the transition of the company’s Voskhod chromite mine from development to operation stage.
From 2008 to 2013, Randy held executive assignments with junior mining companies in Kazakhstan, Brazil, and the UnitedStates.
With over two decades of mining experience behind him, in 2013, Randy founded NW3 Mining Consultants, Inc., a mining consulting firm based out of Toronto, Canada.
