Ratindra Khatri

Ratindra Khatri, born on 4th October 1963, joined Nepalese Army on December 1982 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on 1st April 1984. He retired as a Colonel after 28 years service as an active army officer.

A "Khukuri of Honor" of Nepalese Army Academy is also distinguish graduate of Nepalese Army Command and Staff Collage. He is also a graduate of United States Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth Kansas. He had done Advanced Security Course from Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Hawaii. Khatri successfully completed numerous other professional courses from United Nations, United Kingdom, India and Nepalese army Training Institution.
Khatri served in Command, Staff, Instructional and Security related appointment in different position of Nepal Army. His Multinational tour of duty begun with United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon in 1989/90, in 1994/95 served United Nation Protection Force as a Military Observer in Former Yugoslavia and recently he completed UN mission in Haiti as a Chief Military Personnel Officer of MINUSTAH Military Force Headquarter and National Contingent Commander of Nepalese Contingent. During the Devastated earthquake of Jan12th, 2010 he was at Port-au-Prince and involve actively in relief operation throughout the year.

At present he is Executive Director of the Strategic Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction Nepal. He is also involved in Common Concern Nepal, Peace and Development Studies, GB Khatri Memorial Trust and Bishnumati River Rehabilitation Project.
Khatri holds Masters Degree in History and also in Political Science from Tribhuban University. He is decorated with the Suprabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu and several other Nepalese and Foreign Medals. He is married to Mrs. Rachana and they are blessed with two Children daughter Anisha and son Abhash.
