Hi, I'm just wanting to share my plan to live life. I'm working a job that I like okay, pay is great but I am not doing what I love. This is a huge conundrum for me because doing what you like for money VS. doing what you love for little to no money, is quite a sacrifice. (Yes, my values are skewed like most of my peers, but I am working on this) However, for the sake of living for today it is essential in living life "right". In my opinion living life "right" means to get the most fulfillment out of life without jeopardizing my health, valuable time with family, or working to help those in need. When I break my back working late to get the job done, yes.. it is a great feeling but in the end it is not something that helps me to live a fulfilled life. What does, you ask? Spending time helping others, being with those that I love, traveling and seeing new things, spending long hours doing something that is making a difference in the world. [That is what I think a fulfilled life is.] THAT is why I am leaving Corporate USA. My mom asked me to have a plan (totally agree to this point) but I am not sure what my plan really is so here it is; MY "PLAN": Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity immediately Hike part of the Appalachian Trail (4-6 weeks) Begin researching trails and putting on a trail run (10K/13.1/26.2?) Ask Pete about Luke's Locker connection Hike part of Te Araroa? SAmerica for 4-6 weeks? There! That's a plan...? Sorta.. More like big ideas:) Red 8/22/2013 Poem that I remind myself about daily: Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better To paint a picture or write a letter, Bake a cake or plant a seed, Ponder the difference between want and need? Dust if you must, but there's not much time, With rivers to swim and mountains to climb, Music to hear, and books to read, Friends to cherish and life to lead. Dust if you must, but the world’s out there, With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, A flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come round again. Dust if you must, but bear in mind, Old age will come and it’s not kind. And when you go - and go you must - You, yourself, will make more dust. -Rose Milligan
