As someone with Dyslexia, filming and animating has allowed me to demonstrate my knowledge and understanding of a single subject through my ideas of how it should be presented. This allows me to be creative, as I show many subjects in different ways. This became the foundation for my decision to further my media and creative arts education.

I had my first taste of the media industry doing a stop-motion animation workshop in year 8 when an animator came to our school to deliver a mini project where we had to learn how to use animation to achieve a group task. Before taking part in this task, I had previously viewed stop-motion animation as just entertainment and not something that could enhance my creative skills and improve my concentration. I found the process of doing this in year 8 allowed me to discover my strengths and focus my skills on being practised to create these time-consuming creations. The art of stop-motion has allowed me to enhance my attention to detail as the smallest detail can make a big difference in the quality of the work product in the animation and I have continued making the animation parallel to my years at school.

In Year 10 my knowledge about the media industry increased significantly as I was part of the BBC school report. In this project. I was part of the planning and research team that worked as part of a 10-student strong group, this gave me the first feel of working in a production team as we created the news broadcast, which increased my social and communication skills. Participating in the project has made me more observant about what goes on around me and catching it in a report.

During my first year in college I actively participated in the school volunteering programme (vinspired) and utilised this opportunity to volunteer in areas closely related to my areas of interest assisting the school with creating the Phoenix TV Hub which documented the student's thoughts and experience within their schools and the community, one of this project was the Lyric The Future where a group of students got a tour of the expansion of the lyric theatre.
