Rashik Parmar is a distinguished digital leader with a 42-year career dedicated to fostering responsible and impactful digital solutions. He currently serves in key advisory roles, including Council Member at The Open University, Chair of the Industry Advisory Board at Digit Lab, Leeds Univeristy Computer Science Advisory Board, Leeds Trinity University Computer Science Advisory Board. He is a Founding Director of the CIO Mirror Programme, aiming to help technical leaders from disadvantaged backgrounds progress to executive roles.
As former Group CEO of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, Rashik focused on enhancing the organisation's reputation as a trusted authority on the future of computing. He also spearheaded organizational improvements to ensure efficient and effective delivery of strategic outcomes.
Previously, as IBM Fellow and Vice President, Rashik led the development of a "future-ready" culture within IBM's EMEA technical community and drove its technical strategy. He is a pioneer in the field of Responsible Computing, co-authoring the Harvard Business Review article "What is Responsible Computing?" and developing a framework for best practices for contemporary IT professionals.
Rashik is a highly sought-after speaker and thought leader on digitisation, renowned for his ability to inspire teams and articulate compelling yet realistic visions of technological possibilities. His expertise is further evidenced by his co-authored HBR article "New Patterns for Innovation."
