Hi. I'm Rashmi (which means ray of light in Sanskrit and is pronounced "rush-me" like the song Crush Me by Dave Matthews but without the "c"). The picture to the right is one I took of the MIT Media Labs on a rainy Sunday in Cambridge.

Things I love in no particular order: reading, the perfect cup of coffee, swimming, running, New England, India, adventure traveling, art museums, exploring Brooklyn, and eating/cooking all things vegetarian. I also heart technology.

I live to make the world a better + more beautiful place in however many small ways I can.

Better. At Etsy, I worked to create sustainable micro-economies made up of small businesses in vintage and handcrafted goods across the world. More beautiful. I now work at Gilt Groupe to help people explore and fall in love with the cities in which they live.

In the past, I have worked in both finance and the nonprofit sector: Lehman Brothers, Credit Suisse, PIMCO, Clinton Foundation, Council on Foreign Relations.

I hold a BA from Harvard (2005) and an MBA from MIT Sloan (2012).
