Rasika Karkare
Therapist, Psychologist, and Founder of Mind Voyage in Mumbai, India
Rasika Karkare (born August 21, 1996) is a certified Counseling Psychologist and mental health entrepreneur based in Mumbai, India. Driven by a lifelong fascination with human behavior and relational dynamics, she is the Founder and CEO of Mind Voyage, a clinical practice dedicated to destigmatizing mental health care and delivering ethical, evidence-based therapy.
With over five years of clinical experience, Rasika has guided young adults through a diverse spectrum of emotional and mental health challenges. In early 2023, she transitioned her practice to focus exclusively on couple therapy—a challenging and intricate niche that she considers her true professional calling.
Therapeutic Philosophy
Rasika rejects the traditional notion of a therapist as an "advice-giver." Instead, she operates on the core belief that clients are the foremost experts on their own lives. She often describes her role through a driving metaphor: the client is always behind the wheel, while she acts as the navigator in the backseat, helping them read the map, heal old wounds, and safely reach their destination.
She curates customized, science-backed therapy plans that strictly adhere to APA ethical guidelines. Her clinical methodology integrates Systemic frameworks, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), the Person-Centered approach, and the globally recognized Gottman Method.
Academic & Professional Background
Rasika’s clinical expertise is built on a rigorous academic foundation. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from S.I.E.S. College and an M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology from Christ University, Bangalore. Further specializing her skill set, she earned a Certification in Couple and Family Therapy from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and actively trains with The Gottman Institute (USA).
Before establishing Mind Voyage in 2019, Rasika’s professional journey included clinical practicums at Sion and Sushrusha Hospitals, serving as a School Counsellor, and teaching undergraduate psychology as Visiting Faculty at R.D. National College. She is also a published researcher, having authored a 2018 study on Indian mental health practices in the Indian Journal of Mental Health.
Commitment to Care
Committed to authentic and ethical practice, Rasika believes that effective therapists must prioritize their own mental well-being. She actively engages in continuous personal therapy and peer supervision, ensuring she continues to learn, grow, and provide the highest standard of care to the clients who trust her with their stories.
