Dr. Ratnam Jain

An obstetrician and gynecologist with more than 20 years of experience in 3 countries around the world, Ratnam Jain, MBBS, MD offers a variety of services for the women in New Jersey. Currently, Dr. Ratnam Jain runs her own private practice at Special Care Ob-Gyn at Clifton in Passaic County and Belleville in Essex County, providing quality care to all patients. Alongside her private practice, Dr. Ratnam Jain serves as an Attending Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic.

Over the course of her medical career, Dr. Ratnam Jain has specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with some study in other medical fields as well. As an obstetrician, Dr. Jain provides general obstetric care, in addition to management of various obstetric complications and emergencies as well as pregnancy-related disorders. As a gynecologist, Dr. Ratnam Jain performs procedures such as hysteroscopies, sterilization procedures, hysterectomies, vaginal repairs, and laparoscopic procedures.

For a brief period while working as a Senior House Officer in the United Kingdom, Dr. Jain also worked in pediatrics. Dr. Ratnam Jain has also provided training to medical students and residents throughout her career. She began teaching in India at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College in Ajmer, where she served as a Registrar for Obstetrics and Gynecology while studying for her Master of Science from Rajasthan University in Jaipur. While training in the United Kingdom, Dr. Ratnam Jain taught undergraduates as Acting Registrar at St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.

After earning membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Jain also taught postgraduate students who applied as candidates for membership. At the end of her medical training in the United States, Dr. Ratnam Jain taught medical residents as Administrative Chief Resident of OB/GYN at Mount Sinai Medical Center Queens Hospital Center, and briefly taught residents as faculty at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Her vast experience, training, and board certification in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States earned her recognition as a Top Doctor in 2009 and 2010 by New Jersey Monthly.
