Over the past two years, Raul has fought for an important piece of legislation for the Petrolum industry - continuation of the penny per gallon Underground Storage Tank throughput fee, reopening of the State Assurance Fund and payment of time barred claims for reimbursement made by responsible owners and operators. Thanks to the many diligent efforts of PMAA members and the willingness of key Legislators to listen, the UST fee will continue through 2015 and a study committee met in 2013 and 2014 to examine the related issues.

A UST actuarial study and UST insurance stakeholder meetings are slated for the summer of 2014 organised by Raul Peters, with the goal of crafting a long term solution during the 2015 legislative session.
