Raven Ai Briarkith

I am a SCAdian, first and foremost. I started writing at a young age, and have loved fairytales my whole life. I attribute my love of fiction and fantasy to my father.

Ai was born in 1990 in North Carolina. Her father, being a military man, moved her and her mother twice before her little sister was born, and then once more before her little brother was born, and then once more before she started school in Missouri.

Ai started writing when her father gave her and her sister a hand-me-down computer that wasn't hooked up to the internet. At first, the girls took turns playing space-themed pin ball and that flying starship flag game. Then, Ai taught herself how to type, starting off with one word sentences. She developed the most in poetry, amusing herself with rhyming words and short stanzas that she would later put to music that she never wrote down (because she couldn't read music)

Just before high school, the family got relocated to the east coast, where she started learning languages other than her own and actually socializing with peers, rather than the group of adults that hung out in her church basement and cooked 14th century food for each other once a month.

After high school, Ai's father retired and the family moved to Western Pennsylvania, where they still reside today. Ai went to a trade school, because she was afraid of 'real' college, and now works in an office downtown. Regarding the Sisters Grinn

The Sisters Grinn were born in 2012 but have been together for years. In March, Daciana and Ai were watching BBC’s Robin Hood and ran out of episodes. To fill the hole left by the untimely demise of our favorite characters (and the abuse of some we felt deserved more) the two of them decided to embark on their own adventure in story telling!
