Raven Ambers
Conway, AR
I am a Central Arkansas native and an aspiring television news reporter with strong interests in current events, culture, economics and music. I'll be getting my B.A. in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism in 2013, along with two minors in Anthropology and Economics. When I'm not in school, studying, or working, I enjoy reading, being involved in my community, and taking hikes around "The Natural State" if the weather permits.
In 2012, I was honored with a Mark of Excellence award by Society of Professional Journalists for my breaking news coverage on Occupy Little rock. I also received 1st Place for Television News Reporting by the Arkansas College Media Association in 2012.
Throughout college, I've been active with my university's student-run television news show, UCA News 6, operating cameras, working as a technical director, producing, reporting, anchoring, and even delivering weather forecasts. I've done it all. I write, shoot, and edit all of my news material.
This past year, I've been the face of UCA's online newspaper, The Fountain, webcast series. I've hosted IndieView, showcasing and interviewing bands at a local Conway venue. I'm also the host of UCA Cribs, where I travel to the homes of UCA Bears and have them show off their pads.
I'm bold and have never met a stranger.
