My music career started in 1983 when I first learned to play guitar...At that time I was teaching myself Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy songs and became proficient enough that I started working with bands a year later. My first band was Enochian, started in 1985. Named after the Book of Enoch which held many keys to magic and healing, as well as alternate theories of the beginning days on Earth--It was the magic aspect I sought for music and the healing power that music has on people that made the name click. I recorded my first song "Sin" live in early 1986 and by 1988 had sold or given away 100 cassette tapes, back in the days before digital downloads and readily accesible CD burners. But a paramount moment occurred during the time of Enochian when I heard the band Skinny Puppy as well as others on Wax Trax records, to name one of several. I had to get into synthesis. Having owned drum machines since the beginning of Enochian as I have always had a solo act, I was already familiar with concepts such as ADSR, Cutoff Freq, Resonance, Sample Rate and so on. The first synthesizer I purchased was not analogue as I couldn't afford one, but a Korg Wavestation...Little did I know it was destined to become a classic of it's own. Then came other synths such as a Roland Juno 106, Super Jupiter, Oberheim, etc so I was in the midst of analog synthesis. Samplers were also used such as a Kurzweil K2000S and Akai. The first computer sequencer I used was not a DAW, but rather a MIDI sequencer: Cubase 0.95B--A Beta version of Cubase! A version that I also sent to a band in the early 90's that was starting out called Switchblade Symphony. The 90's and 00's saw my studio grow an order of magnitude or two. I also wrote about 140 songs during that time for Enochian and another project, March of the Fall. Other projects I worked on were with The Genitorturers, Wumpscüt, Collide and Phil Western from Download. I also became a booking agent and booked 2 dozen or so bands/performers at venues in San Francisco, CA. In 2007 I moved my studio from San Francisco to the Pacific NW where I currently reside. And just recently in Sept 2012 I started a project named Sun Strikes Six. This is my current focus of all my energy. For more info, please see my links. Cheers~Raven Łynch about.me/ravenlynch
