Bringing an end to bullying is long overdue.It’s an issue that has plagued generations of both children and adults. Unfortunately, bullying never seems to stop; it exists everywhere, in all schools and all industries. But with the advent of social media, bullying has only gotten worse. Cyberbullying now impacts far more people than face-to-face bullying ever had before. And adults are not immune to the impacts of this hateful behavior. Over the years, Raven Starre has become an advocate for putting cyberbullying to an end. She believes that a key part of the problem with online bullying is the disconnect that our “connected” internet world presents to us. Gone are the days of escaping bullies when you made it home from school or work or wherever else. Now, they’re everywhere, with many bullies choosing to spew hatred simply because they are bored — and they can. Raven is passionate about helping others understand that cyberbullying is real bullying and in some cases, it’s even worse than what children endured in schools years ago. Why? Because it’s inescapable and anyone can be a target; regardless of his/her age. In a new blog series, the advocate looks forward to discussing terminology related to cyberbullying, in order to educate the public about what to look for and how to stop it.
