Since 2023, One Piece has been more than just a tv show for me. It has been one of those things that stayed with me as I grew up and learned more about the outside world. It shaped the way I see daily life. What made me begin watching One Piece was the fact that a lot of people complain there's too many episodes and it had terrible story pacing.
However even with such backlash, people still call it one of the best stories in modern times. And so with that acknowledgement, I watched it to see if it's true that it has one of the best stories of modern time. And so as I watched it and spent so much time on it, it started to become personal for me. Messages like always move forward, stay loyal to your people, and don't let hard moments decide who you are started to resonate with me.
As I started to move ahead in my high school years, such messages stayed with me when challenges arose. Furthermore, it fueled my love of literature since there’s so many references that can be made out of One Piece that can be seen in other literature works like the Bible for example. And this admiration of how many different story lines and references in the show can make such a beautiful big picture at the end. This is why One Piece has been way more than just a tv show for me. It has been a beaconing of motivation and achievement for me and I’ll always have it resonate with me.
