Dr. Ravish Patwardhan also serves as President and founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization Re-Vitalize. Founded in 2007, this organization has provided the public with information about various medical disorders. Recently, Dr. Patwardhan collaborated with school districts to facilitate a visit and speech from Erik Weihenmayer, a blind man who climbed Mount Everest, to an audience of over 2,000 ninth graders. Prior to that, Dr. Patwardhan has invited prominent speakers such as Dr. Ben Carson, Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins and author of the book "Gifted Hands," as well as several others. Dr. Carson was raised by a single mother in a environment of gang warfare in an underprivileged neighborhood in Detroit. Dr. Carson teamed with Dr. Patwardhan and Dr. Kellie Lim to discuss how overcoming social challenges can "re-vitalize" one goals and dreams.

Dr. Ravish Patwardhan was determined to invite Dr. Kellie Lim because of her compelling history of becoming a physician despite having parts of both legs and an arm amputated at age 8 years old. She joined Dr. Patwardhan in emphasizing that "little is made impossible," illustrated by the determination she exhibited to overcome life's many challenges.

Dr. Ravish Patwardhan's experience with leadership programs dates back to 2002, when he served in a range of university committees. He has also held board membership with his local chapter of the American Red Cross as well as the position of Vice President in charge of membership and marketing with his local Chamber of Commerce. As of 2010, Dr. Patwardhan has worked as a DC Community Coordinator for underserved neighborhoods as a part of the efforts of Community Renewal International.

An avid participant in his professional community, Dr. Ravish Patwardhan has made numerous contributions to the field outside of his clinical experience. Dr. Patwardhan worked on development of the "Microtriad" device, an innovative medical product that facilitated micro dialysis and micro electrode recording from the brain, in conjunction with two others at UCLA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Subsequently, he worked on development of a collagenase-based solution which helped discern neural and adipose tissue with a co-discoverer.

Most recently, Dr. Ravish Patwardhan earned an MBA in finance from New York University.
