Ray Clarke

Raised in North Devon, and a recent graduate from Bath Spa University, Ray is a creative product designer who has an underlying curiosity about how objects are made, and the workings of them. Using this curiosity as a sources of inspiration, Ray focuses on combining traditional materials and techniques with playful intent and interactivity. By adapting every day, household objects and traditional making processes, Ray utilizing the normally overlooked potentials and details by altering / re-configuring the main essence of them. By approaching design in this way, this helps to create pieces which are thought provoking and hold an unexpected twist - often engaging the viewer through intuition, and interaction - injecting fun surprises within the everyday norm. Ray has a strong focus with hands-on making, allowing him to translate his curious observations and instinctive approach directly onto the object.
