He's been a farmer, a Marine, an oilfield roughneck, a high school and university English/journalism teacher, a dreamer and a schemer. He is active in many programs and organizations that work to promote veteran welfare and appreciation. But Ray Elliott has also been writing newspaper columns, stories and historical fiction that have touched people's lives since 1977.
