Ray Maarten

Ray Maarten (1990) was born on the small island of Curaçao.
Ray is a very brave young man who knows exactly what he wants and fights to make his dreams come true.

At a very young age he became very interested in everything related to technology and computer science.

When studying at ‘MBO’ level (senior secondary vocational education) he chose for a specialization in Information Computer Technology. After four years he graduated as the most successful student of his class.

In 2010 he started working at a Telecommunication Company in Curaçao, where he joined the BlackBerry Helpdesk team. He worked there for nine months but he knew for sure that this was not the job he wanted to keep for the rest of his life. So in 2011 he decided to pack his bags and moved to the city of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he started a new chapter of his life as a Bachelor student of ICT majoring in System Network Engineering at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences(‘Hogeschool van Amsterdam’). He wanted to make his dream, to become a Professional in the IT sector, come true. In the third year of his study he chose to do a Minor in Computer Forensic Intelligence & Security which he finished successfully.

Nowadays Ray wants to give his input to make the IT world more secure and aims at minimizing the damage or impact that may come with cyber-attacks.

He wants to achieve this by raising the awareness of Computer security, by educating people and companies how to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their assets.

Ray's hands-on mentality, his enthusiasm and perseverance enable him to achieve the goals he sets.

Wherever he has worked and had his internships, all co-workers could go along very well with him and respected him for the way he accomplished his tasks.

At the moment, Ray is starting with his final internship and thesis and is looking forward to finish his study in the fall of 2015 obtaining his Bachelor Degree of ICT, majoring in System Network and Engineering.
