Rick Bach
Boston, Massachusetts, United States
My name is Rick Bach and I’m a freelance writer with a heavy emphasis on outdoor writing. Inspired by my heroes, such as Ernest Hemingway, Thomas McGuane, the late John Merwin, Jerry Gibbs, Bill Heavey, John Gierach, Jim Harrison and many others, I’ve taken to a life toiling away in words and waters. I have fished in 28 of the lower 48 states, caught 53 different species of fish in more than 100 towns and cities. I’ve written for and been published in (or on the website of) Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, On The Water, The Drake, The Fly Fishing Journal, The New Jersey Angler and others. I am searching and dreaming each day of new potential stories and homes for them and if you’re looking for high-quality, consistent work from a passionate writer and photographer, I’d love to help. I’ve lived in Upstate New York, Cape Cod, New York City, the Jersey Shore, the Gulf Coast of Florida and am currently living just outside of Boston while attending graduate school for Publishing and Writing at Emerson College. I can be easily contacted at [email protected] and would love to hear from you, whether it’s a story idea, thoughts or just plain old conversation about why we love the water. Thanks for visiting and stop by as often as you can.
