The primary goal of my current research is to better understand the mechanisms of protein aggregation in the presence of antimicrobial preservatives using biophysical characterization techniques. While preservatives have been linked to protein aggregation for many years, our aims have been identify aggregation-prone regions within individual protein systems using numerous biophysical techniques in order to distinguish potential sites and strategies for stabilization against aggregation.
