Ron Buchinski
Volunteer in Beatrice, Nebraska
Born and raised in Herkimer NY, I was drafted in 1972 and served my country on active duty for nearly 7 years during the Vietnam conflict. I had a life-changing experience with Jesus Christ on July 4, 1976 and my life has never been the same.
Upon my Honorable Discharge in 1978 I returned to college full-time (abc.edu) as a married student with 3 children and received my BA Degree in Bible and Theology. My Senior year I was the recipient of the Expository Preaching Award; and named to 'Who's Who In American Colleges and Universities.' I have a Graduate Certificate in Addictions from Rutgers University which included 3 weeks on campus; and have completed online classes at Moody Bible Institute and Liberty University Seminary.
Currently I am “semi-retired” from Christian ministry after 35+ years of full-time ministry; twenty-two as Senior Pastor at two 24/7/365 Rescue Missions (both incorporated as churches in Lincoln NE and Bellingham WA).
I have implemented new program development and led numerous capital campaigns, enlarged organizational leadership, conducted strategic planning, led fund development and wrote grants, negotiation, teaching, and public speaking. I was involved in the accounting and personnel departments of our organizations on a daily basis.
I was ordained as a pastor in 1984. I served on military chapel staffs for 6 years including The Military Academy at West Point; also as a part-time youth pastor 3 years in WV; and as a full-time church pastor for 3 years. Over the years I have served as an interim pastor at 5 churches for a minimum of 8 months to a year each time.
We “retired” to Beatrice, Nebraska and have been Nebraskans over 20 years. We have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren. My incredibly gifted wife and help-meet, Pat, and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in November 2022.
We attend and are involved at West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice.
