Bio

A graduate of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre (CFC), Rahul is an Indian-Canadian filmmaker who enjoys telling heartfelt and hopeful stories of underrepresented groups.

He was a Writer on LATE BLOOMER (Crave), POTLUCK LADIES (Yes TV), SKILLSVILLE (PBS), and Story Editor on RUN THE BURBS (CBC) and DON'T EVEN (Crave). He was also a Director Shadow on LATE BLOOMER and RUN THE BURBS. Most recently, Rahul worked as Director and Story Producer on the CBC show BOLLYWED, and as Consulting Producer on the CTV Game Show BATTLE OF THE GENERATIONS.

Rahul is currently creating a web series for Bell Fibe TV1 and writing a graphic novel for KidsCanPress. IMAGINARY RAIN, a feature film he co-wrote, has recently finished production and is slated for a 2025 release.

Rahul's past work includes the award-winning short film FORBIDDEN TIKKA MASALA which was programmed by the Toronto International Film Festival for the TIFF Film Circuit and TIFF Reel Comfort programmes. This film was released digitally by Omeleto to 225K+ views, and has been licensed by the TIFF Digital Platform, CBC Gem, and Air Canada.

Rahul is an alum of several development programs including Just For Laughs Stand Up & Pitch, BIPOC Showrunner Bootcamp, BIPOC Directors' Masterclass, Reel Asian Pitch, Reelworld E20, WarnerMedia X BlackList Writer Pipeline, WarnerMedia AccessFestivals, Roadmap Writers BIPOC Initiative, and the BITS Horror Development Lab. He is a graduate of the 2020 BIPOC Kids TV Writing Bootcamp where he developed PEEHU’S PALS, a show teaching computer programming basics to the 4-7 age group.

Rahul's work has been supported by Telefilm, CCA, OAC, and the Indigenous Screen Office, and covered in several media outlets such as CNBC-TV18, The Sun, Toronto Star, The Metro, and Brampton Guardian.

Rahul has a Masters’ degree in Computer Science and spent a decade working in finance and cybersecurity before embarking on a film & TV career.
