For me, solving a problem is a puzzle:
When building a piece of furniture you can make the pieces whatever shape you want. But they all have to fit precisely in the end.
When designing and building software you can make the pieces fit together in several ways - or you can substitute different pieces. But, which arrangement is best? Which one should we do? It depends on the situation.

When I'm working with my development team to design a solution, I like to ask the developers questions. Everyone has different suggestions - different pieces. And I help the team fit them together in the right way for that situation.
