As an older sister of five younger siblings, I knew I had a passion for teaching and guiding children. They helped to teach me so many qualities I truly value about myself today. It helped to form an easygoing and patient version of myself that will one day become a teacher. In high school I had the opportunity to coach cheerleading for 3rd grade and that is when I knew I wanted to teach and help grow kids as a career. I spent Tuesday and Thursday evenings laughing and truly bonding with this group of girls, and by the time Saturday morning came around I loved the feeling of the pride I took to be called their coach. Seeing them progress in their cheers and half time routine throughout the year out an unshakable smile on my face. I want to be able to make that forever impact on children everyday and be proud to call them my students as I watch them grow through the year. I want to take pride in their academic and social accomplishments. I want to be a teacher who truly can make a memorable difference, and I owe it all to this group of girls and my siblings that helped to shape me to be the person I am today.
