Rachael Curtis

Growing up with a colorful cast of characters, becoming a storyteller was inevitable. I won my first award for storytelling in fifth grade with a short piece I called "How Mount Rushmore Came to Be." After that, I moved on to a more visual platform (I mean, how many more worthwhile accolades can you receive that would compare to "Mr. Colapinto's Most Creative Student Award"?) . I've been in the visual storytelling field ever since.

I studied filmmaking in the Film and Television Conservatory of the Orange County High School of the arts and showcased a self-written and self-directed film in the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2005. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Visual Communications. It was there that I learned how to turn my creative gifts into useful tools for business and for causes close to my heart.

I have a love for travel and a general curiosity about the world around me which keeps my eyes open to new and innovative ideas in the way of telling a story. Life, culture and people are ever-changing. So are the ways that they will relate to your story.

Professionally, I have worked as the Media Director at a local non-profit in Orange County. I created content for their website, oversaw their social media campaigns, produced promotional videos, and even taught a Media Arts and Storytelling class at a local middle school.

Since then, I have done contract work for other local non-profits and freelanced for creative projects including creating a campaign video for a local city councilwoman, producing a promotional spot for a popular and award-winning band out of Orange County, several promotional videos for local church events, and jump-started the social media campaigns of a local business and non-profit out of Los Angeles.

I thank God everyday for the opportunities I've been given and look forward to whatever else will come my way. As Gandalf said, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us." I decide on using my talents and acquired skill set to impact the world by helping and promoting people and businesses who aim to make a difference. Maybe even you.
