Ricky's work has often been documenting Dartmoor's landscape and other rural life events. Ricky has spent the last few years in London building an urban portfolio and returned home to finish studying. His Final Major Project had been looking into the affects that the digital revolution has had on rural life.

As more emesis is placed on digital devices and a need to be connected to the internet, it has become a massive talking point in rural affairs. The changes taking place in this revolution are not visible like the changes that have gone before, will these changes be documented in the same way as the revolutions before have been.
Ricky gets his film fix by volunteering at a small independent cine film archive, this has helped fuel his passion for the past and helping to preserve the heritage contained on armature cine film for future generations to enjoy.

The last project Ricky was involved with was "The lost films of Brig.Peter Acland OBE MC" which gave him the chance to exhibit restored stills from the film to the public. This lead to a short section on BBC's inside out southwest looking at the work undertaken by the archive. He's tasked and in charge of all stills at the archive, which range from documenting archive shows to lifting, restoring and colourizing stills from the film its self. these are used in promotional materials and on the archives website.

This has all aided Ricky in documenting rural life on the southern edge of Dartmoor.
