Autumn and Kathy, creators of Read. Write.Lead. LLC are passionate about staff development and believe that highly trained, dedicated teachers are the biggest factors in student achievement. Autumn and Kathy provide practical and rigorous professional development on a wide range of balanced literacy topics.

They have been attending Lucy Calkin's reading, writing, coaching and content area institutes at Columbia University since 2005. Kathy has taught first and second grades and was an elementary Reading Specialist. Autumn and has been a 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade teacher as well as a elementary and middle school Reading Specialist.

In 2011, they were part of a team that open a public charter school in Kaukauna called New Directions Learning Community. New Directions specializes in the workshop approach to delivering differentiated reading and writing instruction.
