The Read it LOUD! Foundation was started by Wally Amos in 2005 to promote reading to children and their families. "The only way to end adult illiteracy is by creating a generation of young readers"

In 2014 the Read it LOUD! Foundation launched a literacy campaign and are giving free eLibrary cards to all K-12 students in the United States, allowing access to School eBook Library and World Heritage Encyclopedia, with over 9 million ebooks, tutorials, audio books, historical documents, articles and journals, all at no cost.
