Howard N. Brown, Jr., a native of Charleston, South Carolina, has captivated audiences from Carnegie Hall, The White House, and Disney World. From an early age, Howard has been center stage performing in numerous choirs touring across the United States. In elementary school, at the prestigious Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School, Howard was an active member of the Unichorus and a representative on the Student Council. A very talented young man, Howard led the Unichorus in a successful performance on stage at Disney World. Howard was one of the featured masters of ceremony on the tour in Disney World. This was Howard’s first hand experience as a multi-talented musician. His ability to captivate an audience in Disney World was a great experience. As time moves on Howard continues to achieve excellence.

Howard furthered his musical growth at the Charleston County School of the Arts, where he was a vocal major. With a second performance at Disney World, Howard knew that music was a strong influence on his life and that it opens doors to unlimited possibilities. In seventh grade, Howard reached Carnegie Hall in New York City and performed in the beautiful acoustical hall. With Carnegie Hall under his belt, he continued to seek excellence as this was not his last time performing in this great hall; he made two other appearances in high school as well.

Howard performed in several community choirs. He was the Director of Music at the historical Old Bethel United Methodist Church in Charleston, S.C., and Keyboardist at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. He participated in numerous organizations in the community and received many accolades for his dedication and performances. Troop 108 Boy Scouts of America, Jack and Jill of America, King of the Charleston Chapter of the Emancipation Proclamation, Charleston Youth Leadership Council and Eddie H. Jenkins #46 Knight of Pythagoras just to name a few. Howard is a classically trained pianist and classically trained bassist. With all these activities infused in Howard’s life he continues to want more and that is exactly what he did when he attained the highest rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America, which took dedication, commitment, and courage.
