REAL LIVE
REAL LIVE
A Bronx based artist, R.E.A.L was born to the vibrations of Hip Hop. Daughter of DJ Easy Mike and niece of Grandmaster Flash, her gift lay latent for many years. The first sign was at the age of 8, when she wrote her first song called Looney Tunes. Experiencing a broken home and temporary foster care and eventual hard street life, only helped to define and sharpen the consciousness of this artistic spirit. Born out of the ashes of the Hip Hop culture, R.E.A.L has been practicing her natural born composing skills, her incredible flow, and songwriting abilities at various showcases and open mics. She released her first project R.E.A.L (Rhymes Equal Actual Life) in 2005, which gave birth to the single “Never Really Mattered”. R.E.A.L has been performing at several local venues including The Remote Lounge, The Times Square Art Center, Club Madison, Public Assembly, Webster Hall, Club Rebel, Club Esco, Nuyorican Poetry Café and Soiree just to name a few.
Combining her love and passion for music with her business savvy, R.E.A.L created a concert series “The Main Event” along with her partner K. Gorden in 2010 to provide other indie artists the opportunity to showcase their talent, and receive opportunities they may not have received otherwise. In 2011, R.E.A.L recently released the “Top Of The World” music video (Directed by Taya Simmons), which received positive reviews. She is currently working with a new platinum production team on her forthcoming project “Never Too Late”, set to be released in the summer of 2011 under her own imprint, Real Live Ent. "My greatest musical achievement to date is being nominated for an Underground Music Award for "Best Female Rapper" of The Yearr" says R.E.A.L.
