Reap India is committed to uplift, empower and develop tribal (s) and their land in the North Eastern region through education and rehabilitation while promoting peace through various conflict resolution strategies practical to their local context. Tribal's and inter-tribe feuds are almost synonymous, this negligible feuds if unattended posses deadly potentials of a large scale civil unrest as evidenced in the past. Tribal communities are known for raising up an organised armed militia men to protect the political interest of the communities they belong. This organised armed men has a major say in any issues related to their tribes. The government's well intention-ed schemes or programs for poverty alleviation, health promotion, employment generation.....programs etc... breeds more discords among different tribal groups while this self-styled protector of civil liberties thrive on them (the development funds meant for a target group). no election is winnable without their blessings, no tenders for contracts are awarded in their "territory" without their consent, even development works that will directly benefit their land and people are stalled without an "official clearance" from them. Though, if not all, majority of this armed tribal groups mask themselves publicly as revolutionary groups pressing India to cease occupying their territories which was annexed by force against the wish and will of the erstwhile kings and chiefs that ruled over this territories from time unknown. They unseemly run a parallel government with well structured departments and branches while depending financially on the willful or coerced contribution from their tribesmen. the economical standing of different tribe obviously is extreme grim. corruption finds a fertile place to grow and reproduce enormously while extortion is justified under the gasp of security of the communities they belong to. civilized reasoning and logical calculations are laughed at and perceived by the larger community as a meek and weak approach. In the light of all this and more REAP INDIA endeavors to employ education at the grass root level as a strategy to draw tribal leaders out of the well into focusing on the bigger picture of life and humanity with the hope that it will give them an opportunity to learn that might of a nation is no longer dependent on our ability to suppress but rather on our ability to surpass our differences and move forward together..... in our tiny village called GLO
