I like to read, write, bake from scratch, try new homemade recipes, walk on the beach, swim, go fishing and anything else that is relaxing, thought provoking and family oriented. That's pretty much it.

I try to live my life with as much humility as possible, and treat others with compassion and kindness. I haven't always subscribed to that belief system, but God has been wonderful and merciful toward me, and I know in my heart that He wants me to be forgiving toward others as He has forgiven me.

There's nothing more powerful than love and forgiveness. It's stronger than hatred, ignorance and pain. And this is part of why I love books so much. It's truly fascinating to get a glimpse into the hearts of other people and see how they feel about the world; see what they are trying to enlighten readers about.

Most of the time this brief glimpse into another person is so beautiful and profound that words just can't describe it properly. Even if I disagree with what they're saying, that's ok. There's always something to be learned from looking at another person's point of view, no matter how ugly it may seem.

Trying to find love in a world of cruelty and selfishness may seem futile and hopeless, but if we keep digging into the ground and sowing the seeds of our faith, eventually, eventually a rose will bloom.
