I pride myself as being hard working, dedicated and enthusiastic. I have always wanted a conservation career in Africa. I have recently spent 8 weeks gaining invaluable experience monitoring endangered species with Wildlife ACT, gaining skills in using telemetry and bush safety as well broadening my knowledge of animal behaviour and conservation in game reserves.
Not only do I have practical skills, but I also have research and IT skills. My degree assessment was primarily research based which involved collecting and analysis my own data and producing a scientific report. Through this I have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and SPSS (PASW), with a view to study GIS systems as well.
I am an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and adjust t any working environment. I can work off my own back using my initiative, as well as using my people skills to work with a team to achieve end goals and objectives.
My undergraduate thesis was a project for the National Trust titled "The Feasibility of Introducing a Sustainable Colony of Silver-studded Blue Butterfly onto Black Down, West Sussex". In 2014 a population of the species was successfully released onto the site.
