I am currently studying a BA (HONS) Fine Art degree at Wirral Metropolitan College.

I am interested in creating work that causes optical effects, allowing the viewer to have an imaginative interpretation of what they can see within my work. I don’t like my work to be a clear or obvious representation of the subject matter that I am working from. I like createing work that draws the viewers attention, but because the work isn't a clear representation of what the subject matter is, it allows them to have their own interpretation as to what the image is. The work that I am currently doing is forensic drawings of the HIV virus. I chose to base my work on HIV for the reason that I believe that the human kind are self distructive, and some people contract the viris through careless and self distructive acts. People know the risk that they run, but some people do it anyway and for what?

I listen to what the viewer has to say about what they think the image is of. So far people who have looked at my work say that they find the images beautiful. Once they are told that the image is actually HIV, the viewer then looks at my work in a completely different way. I love creating work that gets a reaction.
