Rebecca Riggins

In 2013 I moved to Hawaii. I have truly been blessed and life is looking pretty darn wonderful at the moment and for the future.

Spent my Elementary School days in Willunga, South Australia. A beautiful historical town about a hours drive south of Adelaide and then later moved to the suburbs. After completing high school at Wirreanda High School in Morphett Vale, South Australia I spent the next few years in various jobs, including a 3 year stint in the paint shop at Mitsubishi Motors Australia. At this point I decided there had to be more to life and started on a working journey through many towns and States throughout Australia. I found employment in many differing sectors - waitressing, industrial spray-painting, lab assistant, plant nursery assistant and many more.

In September of 1999 I gave birth to my beautiful son, Allan. I was feeling blessed beyond belief and then 7 weeks later I was diagnosed with cancer, yep that dreaded "C" word. After asking with the inevitable question of "why me?" and realizing "why anyone?", it was time to get on with fighting this cancer. I successfully underwent surgery and four cycles of chemotherapy. It was a hard and bumpy road but I had and have a lot to live for. In 2010 I reached the 10 year mark of being cancer free and was officially cured!!
